LEVIN HIGH SCHOOL
Yesterday, on account of the inclement weather, the annual function for the distribution of awards at the Levin District High School took place indoors. The chairman of the school committee, Mr. A. C. Kennerley, presided. There were also present th« Mayor of Levin (Mr. P. W. Goldsmith), representatives of the school committee, the Home and School Association, and the Levin Chamber of Commerce. Awards were distributed as follows: —Higher leaving certificates: Leone Cameron, Margaret Shirley, Joan Callender, J. Elsmore, G. Feigler, G. Roydhouse. Dux of the primary department: Girls, Margaret Wbitaker: boys, Henry Port. Awards were also made to'successful competitors at the jnnual sports, in the agricultural cluF's competition, and in the home gardfcu** competition. The headmaster, wr. R. J. Foss, thanked those bodies in the, district for their interest in and continued support of the school.
An experiment is being carried oat at a Sheffield works where girls In a paper factory work to music as ■ means of lessening fatigue.
