RECORD IN NEW BUSINESS
NATIONAL MUTUAL'S YEAR
The National Mutual Life Association, reporting for the year ended September 30, states that new business written amounted to : £10,137,325. ' This is £1,017,719 in excess of that written for the previous.year and constitutes a!record for the association. The total ihcome.was £5,018,296, which included £3,406,869 for premiums and £1,611,426 (after deduction of rates and taxes amounting to £142,318) for interest. The total amount paid to policy holders or their representatives' during the year was £2,924 349. The total assurances in force at the end of the - year amounted to £93,752.683.
As the result of'the year's transactions, the. sum ,of £ 1,619,258 was.' added to the Assurance Fund, which amounted to £39,161,123 at the closed of jthe year: The investment reserve: fiind^Vas also added to and now amouftts-vto £1.115,161.
