PUPILS' ENTERTAINMENT
The pupils of - Mrs. F. Caldwell, ARC.M, presented a delightful programme of pianoforte solos, duets, and trios, songs, carols, and Christmas recitations to an appreciative gathering of parents and friends at the Methodist Church Hall at Hataitai. • ■/■.-. The senior girls, Audrey Newton, Mary Jamieson, and Sybil -Abbott, played with taste respectively Prelude No. 15 (Chopin), Pierrette (Chaminade), Album Leaf (Beethoven). The younger performers played with ease and confidence. They were: Alison Warren, Grace Mathews, Mary Bar-' nard, Kathleen Telford, Ngaire Dunlop, Margaret Mathews, Jean Ritchie, Cyril Hart, Frank Abbott, and Robin Caldwell. . '■- . ' The certificates recently gained. at the examinations of the Royal Schools of Music were presented by Mr. H. Newton to the following pupils:— Grade V (pianoforte), Mary Jamieson and Audrey Newton; Grade IV, Sybil Abbott;:Grade 11, Cyril Hart; QrSde 111, Grprnmar of Music, Audrey Newton. Mrs. Caldwell was presented with a bouquet from her pupils, and later donations were receved from the -audience for the Children's Health Camp.
