A FIVE-YEAR SENTENCE

A sentence of five years' reformative detention was ' imposed by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in the Supreme Court today on Alfred Seymourn, who appeared for sentence on a charge of indecent assault on a female.

His Honour said it was a very difficult case to deal with. The prisoner had been previously sentenced for similar offences in August, 1915, and in September, 1925, and on each occasion he had received five years' hard labour. In addition, the report on the prisoner was very unfavourable.
