INJURED THUMB

COMPENSATION GRANTED

While he was handling cheese for the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company last June Charles Hogan, a waterside worker, was struck by a falling crate and had his left thumb dislocated. He received compensation until November 2, and in the Arbitration Court today asked Mr. Justice Page and Messrs. W. Cecil Prime (employers' assessor) and A. L, Monteith (workers' assessor) to grant him further compensation for partial permanent injury to the ligaments of the thumb joint.

Mr. F. W. Ongley appeared for Hogan, and Mr. A. B. Buxton represented the defendant company.

After hearing medical evidence the Court decided that Hogan should be paid full compensation to the date of the hearing and an additional £35 for future incapacity. He was allowed legal and witnesses' expenses totalling £12 12s. .
