MARKET PROSPECTS.
Reviewing prospects, Messrs. Winchcombe, Carson, Ltd., Sydney^ state that seasonal conditions have not only affected production in Australia, but also in Argentina. It is estimated that the current clip of that country will be 40,000,0001b, or the equivalent of 129,000 bales of Australian weight Jess than the preceding year. New Zealand is also expected to show a slight decrease, but no change is expected in Uruguay. . . In the Commonwealth the .greatest decline in production will be. recorded in Queensland. The quantity, likely to be available for sale in Brisbane will be 178,000 bales less than twelve months ago. j Until recently arrivals of wool in Sydney kept pace with last season's figures to a great extent, owing to an uninterrupted shearing, but a de^ crease is now becoming apparent. The question as to whether the Australian clip will prove somewhat- larger this season than was originally estimated does not alter the fact that stocks abroad reached low level, that the use of wool has expanded, and that traders show confidence in this season's level of prices.
