ACCIDENT AT FACTORY

SHOWER OF MOLTEN METAL

(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. When molten metal suddenly shot like a geyser out of the pot in which it had been liquified at the Eclrpse Wire Products factory yesterday, three men were caught under the shower and one, James Black, was so severely burned on the back, head, and foot that he had to be removed to hospital. One of the others, C. E. Taylor, was badly burned on the back of the neck and arm, but after medical attention was able to proceed home. The third man, James Smith, escaped the full force of the shower but was caught on the coat and trousers which saved him from physical injury. The men were engaged in galvanising experiments and the mishap -occurred when a metal rod was being immersed in the liquid.
