Burke, the ex-Aucklander, gave a sample of his quality as a batsman, though it is said that bowling is his strongest point. So far he has had only one over—an expensive one (as often happens with a slow bowler)— in local senior cricket, but at the nets he has ■ demonstrated very effectively that he has a well-disguised wrong-'un.
