MELBOURNE, December 12.

When the members of the vestry of St. Saviour's Church, Filzroy, an industrial suburb of Melbourne, assembled lor a meeting tonight, the minister, the Rev. Laceby Cecil, was missing. The members, on investigation, found the minister's dead body in the kitchen of the vicarage with his head battered in.

• No weapon was found, but near the body was a basin of water in which the intruder apparently washed his hands.

It is understood that several robberies have occurred in the premises recently.
