.. The anticyclone which, has persisted over the New* Zealand area since the beginning of the month is now centred east of the North Island, and is losing intensity. Fine, warm weather has continued to prevail generally, a few light showers only having occurred at Isolated places in the western and southern portions of the South Island. Winds have been light and variable, but nortberlies have predominated south of New Plymouth and Castlcpolnt.
