From Whangarei, 397 miles airline: one. bird per member flock race for north championship. Twelve pigeons were liberated by Mr. J. Noton in fine weather, but the weather at the home end was very bad. The winner receives a silver cup donated by Mr. W. Hodson. The results are as follows: Murphy and Sherwood. lOhr 42min 38.3 sec, 1; j. Perrett, lOhr 45min 48;5sec, 2; W: Smith, lOhr 49min 15sec, 3; B. Clements,.llhr 41mm s.ssec, 4; A. Croskery; and Son, llhr 50min 43.25 ec, 5; W. Thomas, 12Hr lmin 32.55 ec, 6; Dr. GilUes,l2hr 23min 39.25 ec, 7. Only seven birds timed in on day of liberation. . . ■

The Petone Homing. Pigeon • Club flew its-race during the •weekend! from Whangarei (383 miles air line); The birds were liberated by the stationmaster in dull weather and-.a light wind. Evidently the birds encountered some rough ' weather en rbute, as they were nearly 13 hours' on the wing. ' '
