ITALIANS SURPRISED

FORCE ;WIPED OUT

DESCENT BY ENEMY

LONDON, December 5. The Hargeisa correspondent of the "Daily Mail" says it is reported that an Italian reconnoitring column of 400 askaris and eight armoured cars and tanks, in attempting to strike the Abyssinian line of communications east of Sasa Baneh, was attacked by 2000 Abyssinians with anti-tank guns, which disabled the armoured vehicles. The whole force was wiped out, with the exception of a few who escaped in a motor-lorry.
