CHANNEL FLIGHT
FLYING FLEA MACHINE
(Received December 6, 12.30 p.m.) BOULOGNE, December 5. The first British-built flying flea, a tiny aeroplane with a 10-horse power engine, piloted by Mr. S. V. Appleby, flew over the Channel from Lympne in 35 minutes, using less than two gallons of petrol. It is recalled that M. Bleriot's original crossing occupied 37 minutes.
