The .ninth1 annual meeting of the National War Memorial Carillon Society was held on. Wednesday evening, there being a good attendance. Lieutenant-Colonel A. Cowles, chairman of the general committee, presided.

The chairman, in presenting the annual report, referred to the many distinguished visitors, notably Sir Alexander and Lady Godley, who had visited the Carillon during the year, and to the special services held. The visitors, he said, all commended the fine character of the memorial, and he expressed the hope that when the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum were completed in June or July next the carillon would lake its rightful place in the hearts of the community.

The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £189 as at the end of September, ' and it was stated that since then a further £300 had been received from the Government as part of the proceeds of one of the recent art unions, thus placing the society on a sound financial footing.
