A DELIGHTFUL PARTY
Mrs. Gordon Forbes entertained a large number ;of her friends at her beautiful new 'home at Western Hutt. Mrs. Forbes, who wore a' graceful dress of apple-green chiffon, received her guests in the large drawing-room. The room was gay with summer flowers, and the big view windows gave lovely peeps of the garden with native bush.
Before afternoon tea was served recitations were given by Miss Butler, a piano solo by Miss Betty Manton, and songs by Mrs. Spidy arid Miss Monica Malfroy, with accompaniments by Miss Spidy. A delicious tea was served in the large dining-room downstairs, the guests particularly admiring the centre-piece of gay mixed flowers.
After tea the guests strolled about the garden with great enjoyment and went into the cool bush, until a long stream of cars homeward bound announced the end of a delightful afternoon. ' ,';.■■ ,
There were about 80 guests.
