Afternoon'tea was dispensed by the secretary, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded her for her hospitality and for the use of her home. Mrs. Beales was presented with some beautiful flowers, and a cordial tribute paid her for her long years of service. Mrs. Porter also received a bouquet, and all the members of the committee were given dainty posies
LAST MEETING FOR YEAR
There was a large attendance at the last meeting for this year, of the National Council of Women, Mrs. Peryman, vice-president, being in the chair. A welcome was extended to new delegates, and Mrs. Wallis (delegate for the Mothers' Union) was welcomed back from a trip abroad. Votes of thanks were passed to several affiliated societies which had augmented the funds of the council by generous donations, and the hope was expressed that other societies would fall into line and bear a share in conference expenses. There was a good discussion on several remits passed by the Dominion conference. A letter was received from Mrs. Alfred H. Waters with the gift of two handsome autographed photographs of Lord and Lady Aberdeen, with the wish that they might be placed where they would be an inspiration to those who have the interests of the N.C.W. at heart, and are also delegates of the movement. A vote of thanks to Mrs. Waters was passed, and the secretary was requested to write to this effect,
