PUBLIC SERVICE TOURNEY
PROCEEDS FOR HEALTH CAMP
It was decided at last night's annual meeting of the Public Service Sports Tournament Society that the proceeds of the swimming, tennis, and athletic tournaments to be held early next year are to be devoted to the Children's Health Camp Fund. " ■■.■
Expression of the society's gratitude to the permanent heads of departments, and ,to various business firms, who had assisted with money or MrPl" eS T3Wn S given by the chairman, ¥/Ars- B- ? ey.nolds, in proposing .the adoption of the annual report. The financial position was most satisfao toif, a net profit of £35 having been made from the last tournament, while there was over £77 in the Post Office Savings Bank. * The swimming events, it was decided, are to be held on the evening of February 12, the tennis on February 12, and the athletics on February 19 ■A. Vu as als-° decided in connection with the swimming athletic meetings to recommend to the executive that invitation events be included in the programmes.
The election' of officers. resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. M. J. Savage M.P.; president, Mr. G. McNamara; chairman, Mr. R. B. Reynolds; secretary, Mr. W. A. Jameson; honorary treasurer, Mr. M. J. Cooper; executive committee, Messrs. F. Bond, H Lowe C. N. Johnson, P. Keegan, W. G. Alexander, D. A. Johnston, W. Watt J Pinkerton, K. Comrie, K. Longmore and another to be added from the Railway Department.
