SALES TAX ON FLOUR
CONTINUANCE IN AUSTRALIA
AID TO WHEAT GROWERS

CANBERRA; This Day.
The sales tax of £2 12s 6d a ton on flour for Australian consumption for a further six months to provide for financial assistance for wheat-growers until the Commonwealth plan for a home-consumption price for wheat can be brought into operation.
A home consumption price of 4s 9d per bushel has been proposed, and some States have agreed to levy it, particularly New South Wales.
