RACING AT FEILDING
GAY BOY'S IMPROVED FORM
MORRIS STABLE'S SUCCESS
The FeUding , Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was concluded yesterday in bright summer weather, and, except for a strong wind, conditions were as pleasant as one could wish. Had the Saturday been as congenial the club would have enjoyed a highly successful fixture. For an off day yesterday's attendance was satisfactory. The investments for the day amounted to £8111, as against £9067 on the final day (the Saturday) last year, making a total of £18,176, compared with £18,604 twelve months ago, a decline of £428.
As a result of the fine weekend the track had dried up completely, and the going was in splendid order, just without being too hard. It was an ideal racing surface for horses who are to compete through the coming holiday meetings.
A feature of the day's racing was the success of horses trained by L. G. Morris. The stable, with five runners, was represented in . four races, and it won them all. Three of them, Hunting Queen, Limulus, and Laughing Lass, are owned by Mr. T. A. Duncan, and the other, Middle, by Mr. F. F. Newman. The other starter was Entheos, owned by Mr. Duncan, who ran unplaced in Middle's race. The principal event of the day saw' Gay: Boy stage what was apparently a decided reversal of form from the. public's point of view, and the victory was not at all well received. However, no inquiry was called, and the stipendiary steward, offered no explanation to the Press.
