YOUNG GIRL KILLED

WAIROA, December 2.

Valeric Joy Lawrence, ten years of age, met instant death this afternoon when she collided with a lorry loaded with metal, driven by William Baker, a borough employee. The girl was riding a bicycie, and it is believed that she swerved in and fell under a rear wheel, receiving severe head injuries.

The lorry pulled up within a few feet, but the driver could not,avoid the accident.
