LARGEST PEACE-TIME VOTE

TOKIO, November 30.

A meeting lasting throughout the night resulted in the Ministers of the Army and Navy compromising with Mr. Takahashi, Minister of Finance, who is demanding Budget retrenchment. Nevertheless, the navy obtained £40,000,000 and the army £36,000,000 —Japan's largest peacetime naval and military expenditure.

The total Budget expenditure is £158,700,000.
