ALWARD CUP FIELD DAY

A field day for clubs competing for the Mary Alward Cup was held on the Titahi links yesterday. A medal round 1A- the morning resulted in a tie between Miss Riedle (Manor Park) and Miss Cooney (Titahi), Miss Riedle winning On a count back.

A fourball best-ball competition in the afternoon saw a tie between Miss Priestley (Shandon) and Miss Byrne (Titahi) and Miss Wilkins and Mrs. McMahon (Titahi), the latter pair winning on a count back.

Next weekend the Titahi Ladies* Club will play two medal rounds ior the Anniversary Cup.

' A hard-worn German Red Cross flag, hauled from a mast over a Gerrfan hospital at Grevilliers, near Bapaume, as the North, Division advanced, was shown at the reunion of members of the New Zealand Medical Corps •on Saturday night. The flag, which is at present held by Mr. B. Davis, of Wellington, will later be placed in the museum. The hospital was one of the first German medical institutions taken in the advance, and a point of particular interest is that it was there that paper bandages were taken for the first time, and were immediately put into use.
