'Customs returns for the month.of November, together with comparativel figures for November, 1934, are as follows:—Customs returns, 1935, £36,635; 1934,- £61,820; beer duty, £23,940, £23,658; sales tax, £23,009, £20,192;; i petrol tax (at 6d per gallon), £11,670, £15,122; tire tax, £1068, £462; gold duty, £1634, £1538. ; .:
The following figures give the comparison between those for the first eight months of the current financial year and those for the same period of 1934, this year's figures being mentioned first:—Customs duty, £431,766, £448,028; beer duty, £150,392, £155,359; sales tax, £165,071, £159,590; petrol tax, £90,876, £108,612;' tire tax, £5956, £5593; gold duty, £16,070, £13,082.
