LONDON, December 1.
Ireland's team to meet the All Blacks in the Rugby football Test on Saturday has been selected as follows:—
Full-back: D. P. Morris , (Bective Rangers).
Three-quarters,—J. J. O'Connor (Cork University), L. Malcolmson (North Ireland), A. Bailey (Dublin University), C. V. Boyle (Dublin University).
Halves.—V. Hewitt (Instonians), G. J. Morgan (Contarf).
Forwards—P. A. Siggins (Collegians) C. E. Beamish (Air Force). W. W. McC. Ross (Instonians), S: Walker (Instonians), Deering (Bective Rangers), T. B. Dunn (North Ireland), C. Wallis (Wanderers), C. R. Graves (Wanderers). :
Malcolmson, Boyle, Dunn, and Wallis are newly capped players. The remainder, except Ross, helped Ireland to secure the international championship last season. The team also includes seven North Irelanders who were in the team which drew on Saturday.
"The Times" Rugby expert points out that, these things considered,' Ireland holds as good a chance as any of defeating New Zealand, who, although not defeatists, have' not attempt to disguise their anxiety lest the fiery and inspired Irish forward playupset their calculations.
Mr. Howard Marshall, in the "Daily Telegraph," expresses the opinion that given a really wet day, the team will be fully capable of defeating the All Blacks, who will have difficulty in. holding their own in forward play. Moreover, behind the scrummage Morgan is probably the best British scrumhalf. The encounter may well prove the match of the year.
