FULL AMNESTY

KING'S WILL PREVAILS

POPULAR SUPPORT IN GREECE

A NEW CABINET

United Press Association—By Electric Telegranli—Copyright. (Received November 30, 11 a.m.) ATHENS, November 29. . The King showed a strong hand in dealing with the crisis caused by the objection of members of Cabinet to the amnesty decree in the form approved by his Majesty, and the full amnesty demanded by him will be granted. ' The Premier (M. Kondylis) stated Cabinet's views and mentioned also the names of several senior officers who threatened to resign, whereupon King George summoned M. Papagos, War Minister, who, it is understood,: vouched for the loyalty of the army while expressing misgivings in regard to the prospect of several hundred pardoned officers re-entering the service. Meantime M. Constantin Demerdjis was approached indirectly and asked if he was prepared to form a neutral Government, proclaim an amnesty, and hold elections. He appears to have expressed willingness provided the attitude, of the army is clarified, and is' forming a Cabinet. M. Papagos was again closeted with | the King last evening. Meantime demonstrators were attempting to bring pressure on the' King. When M. Kondylis left the Pal-, ace, his supporters shouted, "Long live Kondylis. Down with the amnesty." These manifestations do not affect the position of the_King, who has won popular , support for his courageous stand for an amnesty which will enable the Republican leaders to i participate in the political life of the country. The King, during;the day's conversations, threatened to leave the j country if opposition persisted. . j
