MAORI KILLED
MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, This Day. A Maori, Martin Moni, aged 50, married, with seven or eight children, was killed near Matawai this morning when a car in which he was a passenger became out of control, struck a stump, and capsized. His son, Toki Moni, received a fractured skull.
The deceased was a member o£ a party of five Opotiki Maoris motoring to Gisbornc. When near Matawai the accelerator jammed, and the driver, Jacob Ngatai, was unable to control the car.
