WEATHER FORECAST

Forecast for Wellington:— I Moderate to strong north-westerly winds. Weather fair and mild. The general forecast is for westerly to north-westerly winds prevailing, moderate for the most part, but freshening at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits. The weather will be mainly fair and mild, but further scattered showers are likely at times in districts with a westerly aspect.

An anticyclone still extends from the north Tasman Sea across New Zealand, and for the, most part the weather has been fijie and mild with light rain and somewhat variable winds. Misty rain or showers, however, have fallen at a few places in Westland and also in the Cook Strait area.

Although cloudy at times, the weather in Auckland has been mostly fair. A light west to south-west wind prevailed yesterday, and this morning the direction was west-north-west.

In Wellington the weather was fine and warm yesterday and a light northerly breeze prevailed. The weather, however, became cloudy last evening and since midnight there has • been light, misty rain, amounting to 4 points up till 9 a.m. Lower Hutt had three points. The amount of sunshine in Wellington yesterday was 7.8 hours.

The weather in Christchurch was sunny in the morning with a southwesterly breeze, but the wind changed to east-north-easterly at 11.30 a.m., and the sky then clouded over. At 9 a.m. today the weather was overcast with an east-north-east breeze.

Dunedin had a fine sunny day. A light southwesterly breeze changed to northerly in the afternoon. Conditions were still fine there this morning. A temperate easterly breeze prevailed at 9 a.m.
