N.Z. BUTTER IN LONDON
The market for New Zealand butter in London is slow, according to the weekly cabled report.received today by the Dairy Board, and wholesale prices show a drop of 6"s a cwt for the week. Retail prices remain unchanged. The cheese market is quiet; with prices slightly higher than last
Wholesale quotations for butter are—New Zealand, salted, 97s to 98s, and UP to 100s a cwt for extra quality (which equals approximately 11.44 d a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 103s to 104s lastjweek and 72s to 73s at the corresponding period last year; unsalted. 108s to 110s; Australian, 96s to 88s; Danish, spot, 124s to 1255. Wholesale quotations for cheese are: —New Zealand, white, 53s 6d a cwt (which equals 5.84 d a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 52s 6d to 53s last week and 47s at the corresponding period last year; coloured, 55s to ,565; Australian. 50s to 525; Canadian, white, 56s to 58s; coloured, 56s to 60s.
Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received from Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated November 29:— New Zealand butter, 96s to 97s per cwt: market weak. New Zealand cheese, white, depressed to 52s 6d; market very I quiet
A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd., advise having received today cable advice from J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (London), Ltd., as follows:—Butter market weak. New Zealand, 97s to 98s a cwt: Australian, 975. Cheese market easier. New Zealand, white 53s a cwt, coloured 555; Australian, white 50s, coloured 525.
A. H. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their principals, W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, November 29:— No interest in forward purchases. Butter market dull. Danish, 124s a cwt; New Zealand finest, 965; Australian finest 955. Cheese: Market quiet. New Zealand .white, 53s a cwt; coloured, 551.
