INCIDENT IN STREET

Charged with .using indecent language in Cuba Street yesterday, Henry Hedley Bryant Maunder, a labourer aged 22, appeared before Mr. E. D Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. He pleaded not guilty, and was convicted and fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. A traffic inspector described how the accused had used the language set out in the charge sheet while passing him in the company of two other men There were women and children about at the time. He arrested the accused and with the assistance of a constable took him to the police station. The accused, in evidence, denied using the language, and said he had no recollection of the words.
