ROSES

The Hutt Valley Horticultural Society's Rose Show will be officially opened by Mrs. Knox Gilmer at 3 p.m. next Wednesday. The new Horticultural Hall is not quite ready, so the show will be held in King George Theatre. With a few days' warm weather there should be an abundance of blooms —roses, sweet peas, hydrangeas, etc. A feature of the show will be the novel stall, to which readers are invited to contribute. The show is for one day only, and the entries close on Monday, but late entries will be received at the theatre up to noon on Tuesday. Afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies' committee, and there will be a flower stall and a cake stall.
