MURDER CHARGE
DOCTOK REMANDED
DEATH OF A COLLEAGUE
MELBOURNE, November 26.
Dr. Allan John Bothamley, aged 45, of Johnston Street, Fitzroy, was before the City Court today charged with the murder of Dr. Frank Stanislaus Loughnan, aged 35, who was found dead in his surgery, his head having been battered, with a blood-stained tire lever beside the body.
Detective Hogg gave evidence that Bothamley visited the detective office last night and declared he had killed Loughnan. The detective said it had been alleged that an argument occurred in connection with the payment of money due for a medical practice which Bothamley bought from Loughnan. A serious altercation occurred in the surgery. Loughnan died from severe wounds inflicted with a tire lever.
Bothamley was remanded until December 4. Bail was refused.
