GOUGSA ALI ALSO DIES
PRIDE COES BEFORE A FALL
(Received November 27, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, November 26.
A message from Dessie states that on the day of Lij Yasu's death, by a remarkable coincidence, Dedjazmatch Gougsa Ali, formerly his strong supporter, also met his fate. He had been restored to favour, despite his participation in a conspiracy in 1932 led by Lij Yasu during a temporary escape from confinement. Dedjazmatch Gougsc Ali attended the palace and was installed as Governor of the Warra Hailu Province. He departed so exultantly that he failed to watch his step .and fell down a precipice and was killed instantly. The Court officially mourned Lij Yasu, whose daughter is at present at Addis Ababa.
