FRENCH PRECAUTIONS
CURBING OF FASCISTS

PARIS, November 26.
The pressure on the franc reflects the growing-fear that a Fascist putsch is imminent, and the authorities have taken elaborate precautions' to prevent violence when. Parliament reassembles on November 28, and will rush extra police to wherever they are needed. Troops drafted in Paris have been stationed at strategic points.
The Croix de Feu has not concealed its intention of mobilising tens of thousands of adherents and' conduct demonstrations, and newspapers publish reports that they intend to advance into the Chamber of Deputies and various Ministries and to throw prominent Radicals into the Seine. M. Laval has bowed to the Left agitation to curb Fascist leagues. Cabinet has decided to restrict their activities and prohibit the carrying of arms, and has also drafted instructions to police chiefs regarding demonstrations and the. prevention of public disorders.
