SMALL FEILDING YARDING . There was a smaller entry in all sections at the Feilding livestock sale on Friday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that fat ewes came forward in limited numbers, and sold at about Is above-last sale. Wethers with a few excetpions were of indifferent quality and sold at about Is per head lower. There was a fair entry of sheep and competition was not keen,'although a keen demand . was in evidence provided prices were not too high. Generally prices were about Is per head lower; except for ewes and lambs. There was a small entry of both dairy cows and heifers and prices were on a par with recent rates. Store cattle were rather neglected a tthe commencement of the sale, but competition brightened as the sale progressed, and a total clearance was effected under the hammer in advance on last week's rates. A ligiu yarding of beef met with keen com petition, and sold readily at prices in advance of recent sales. FAT SHEEP FIRM.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that there was a nominal entry of stock. Fat sheep were in small supply and the market ( had a firm tone throughout. Store sheep comprised principal-ly-woolly* hoggets, but in this sectioi there was a dull sale,.no doubt caused through the absence of many farmers through shearing activities. The greater proportion of the offering was passed in at auction. Store cattle were penned in small numbers and little business was transacted. A fair entry of beef cattle came to hand, but these sold steadily. A nondescrip entry of dairy stock was penned and a slack sale resulted for best sorts: Quotations:—Fat woolly ewes, 22s 6d, fat ewes. 17s 4d; fat wethers, 21s, 245; ewe hoggets, 325; shorn b.f. hoggets, 20s; wether hoggets, 20s; shorn hog gets, 17s; shorn 2-th. wethers, 18s Id. HOGGETS PASSED IN.

Abraham and Williams; Ltd.. report that in the store sheep section the entry was comprised practically of ewe and wether hoggets in the wool, and for these the inquiry was not nearly as keen as has been the case over the last few weeks, consequently several fassings were the order of the day. at sheep were again in short supply with the result that values again hardened, heavy prime shorn ewes realising up to 18s 6d. Just odd pens of run-bred cattle were submitted, these failing to attract- much attention, any sales effected being on a par with recent sales. Fat cattle sold considerably better than was the case last week, this being partially due no doubt to the fact that a ligher yarding came forward. Dat/ cattle, both springing cows . and heiiers, of which just an average yarding came to hand, sold at late rates. Odd lines of yearling Jersey heifers of good quality attracted more attention than has recently been the case and for these the demand was again inclined to harden. The competition oh empty dairy-bred cowi and heifers was again keen and there was-a, total clearance, in this depart- | ment at auction, values remaining firm on recent rates. Dairy-bred bulls of all classes were difficult to quit, values for these declining over the last three weeks. SHEEP VALUES LOWER.

The New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report that values for sheep were generally lower. There was a firm demand, however, for shorn 2-th. wethers. The offering in the dairy section was made ut> largely of inferior-quality stock which met with a poor sale. There was a large entry of fat cattle of which the majority were dairy sorts. These sold at last week's rates. In the store cattle section three very fine pens of Shorthorn steers on account of Mr. H. Prycs, of Kakariki, were offered.
