ROSE SHOW
NORTHLAND HORTICULTURAL
SOCIETY
The Northland Horticultural Society held its rose show on Saturday at St. Anne's Hall. Although the show was open to the public during the afternoon the official opening took plar^ in the evening. The president, Mr. G S. NicoD, congratulated exhibitors on the quality of th% blooms and decorative work, all classes showing a high standard, notwithstanding the inclement weather. He then introduced the patron of the society, Mr, R. A. Wright, who made special reference to the excellence of the school .exhibits and thought, that the society was doing fine work in encouraging these classes. He also referred to the benefit gained by the district through having a live horticultural society. The work of the executive officers and of the committee was specially mentioned and the society was congratulated on its fine display despite the vagaries of the weather. Mr. Wright then declared the show open. - The prize list is as follows:—
