PROFITABLE POTATO CRISPS.
Smith's Potato Crisps, Ltd., London, continues a lucrative investment for original shareholders. The 5s shares wera recently quoted at 31s. Dividend is 20 per cent, per annum. For two successive years the company has supplemented its cash dividend with a scrip bonus of 5 per cent. The distribution of scrip bonuses is becoming a recognised part of the policy of successful and well-managed British industrial companies. It is one which has obvious advantages from the point of view of the taxpaying shareholder.
The aviation works of Kyoto, Japan, recently built the first aeroplane entirely of bamboo. It is fire-resisting.
