FORTHCOMING EVENTS
The Plunket ..appeal, which will .close on Thursday, December 5, is being; enlivened by several events beiore the garden party, which will bs the final attraction. The position of the baby candidates to.date is as follows:—Maisie 5628,' Gloria .4140, Pam 2680.. Votes may be recorded with members of the committee who are in attendance at the D.I.C. lounge. There will be another open day at the Karitane Home tin EViday, November 29, from 2.30 p.m., to enable people to visit the; grounds and see for themselves what' is being done for the babies.
A Plunket Nurses' Day will be held at the rooms at Ksnt Terrace from 2 'p.m. The nurses have come forward with a generous offer to help the committee in its financial drive, and have organised an open day, with free admission, when there will be a sale of cakes and other articles.
The main concluding event will be the garden, party to be held at the Ministerial residence, Tinakori Road, which has been, lent for the occasion by Sir Alfred Ransom. No pains are being spared to make this party a success, and the crowning ceremony, arranged by Miss Jean Knox Gilmer, should be spectacular. The Scots College Pipe Band will be in attendance and "Uncle Campbell," already ■well known to the children, will be there. All children will be welcome to attend after school.
