SHORT ROUNDS
RING NOTES AT RANDOM
When Dick Forward,, ol Christ church, won the amateur welter tftlaf of New Zealand he was looked upon as quite a classy amateur boxer (remarks an exchange), but that he is at long way removed from the professional standard of the champion, Don,' Stirling, was proved, recently when tha two clashed, Forward stepping Out as a! professional. The result was that Stirling was not really extended to win by; a technical knock-out in the eightli round. It is evident that Forward has a long way to go yet before he can be regarded as a possible champion in the money ranks. ■
