WHENUAKURA VERY KEEN
HAWERA, November 22. . Whenuakura, who is to resume racing shortly, worked eagerly in a round of solid pace work yesterday morning. He is as keen as when a two-year-old and he will require very little fast work. His owner, Mr. W. Kirkland, is expected back from Melbourne by the next boat, when Whenuakura's programme will be arranged. He is likely to make his reappearance at Feilding. ' St. Clara has become quite sound again, and is being sent along.in her work. She was stretched out yesterday morning in a short sprint, and promises to be in good order for Christmas.
Notium, who is to race at Feilding, went smartly over three furlongs with Carfex as a companion. He began quickly, putting a break on Carfex over the first two furlongs, and he finished half a length-in front in 38} sec. Aga Khan, in a working gallop, did his last three furlongs in 43Jsec.
