FOUR-FOOTED FRIENDS
"Talking of dogs, I think last Monday must have been the Dogs' Day Out! For, walking home, I saw in turn an aged spaniel weighed down with dignity of years, then an aristocratic, square-jawed, wire-haired terrier—he looked every inch a "prize" dog. Next, a bit further up the hill, a nondescript, spotted mixture of a dog, a real playmate, in spite of his appearance; then a lively, excited little Scottie, all long hair and welcoming bark. And last, decidedly tile reverse of least,! a bulldog, a real John Bull one, bow-legged, I sturdy as the Rock of Gibraltar, cheerfully u-ly, and the evident pride of the small boy who held his lead." "LASSIE." Kelburn.
