STOREMEN AND PACKERS.
AGREEMENT REACHED
Agreement on all points was reached in the Dominion storemen and packers' industrial dispute, which concluded before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. Hally) yesterday afternoon.
It was agreed that storemen and packers in charge of two or more men other than casuals should receive £4 7s 6d a week, and other storemen and packers £3 18s 6d. Wages for youths were settled as follows: —Under 17. first year, 15s; second year, 20s; third year, 27s 6d; fourth year, 355; fifth year, 42s 6d; thereafter adult' rates. Casual workers are to receive Is lOd an hour. Overtime is to be paid at the rate of time and a quarter for the first two hours, thereafter time and a half.
With one or two minor exceptions other clauses in the award remain the same.
The award will come into operation on Monday. December 16, and will bo for a term of one year.
