ADMIRED BY BELGIANS

Sentiments of condolence on the occasion of the death of Earl Jellicoe are contained in a letter received by the Navy League from M. Armand Nihotte, Consul of Belgium in New Zealand. "The loss of one of the greatest and most popular figures of the Great War, who ?.s commander of the British Navy had won the admiration and affection not only of his own countrymen but also of their Allies, the Belgians, will be deplored in my country," wrote the Consul. "To the Navy -League in New Zealand the passing away of this worthy successor o£ so many illustrious British seamen who, furthermore, has been closely associated with this Dominion as GovernorGeneral, will be a great shock."
