MARSDEN SCHOOL.
j Miss Mayhew, headmistress of the |Marsden School, was "at home" to parents of the children of the Town Preparatory, Fitzherbert Terrace, yesterday afternoon. After the prefects, who had come down from the main school, Karori, had served tea in the big sunny kindergarten room. Miss Mayhew told her guests of the plans made for the children for next year. The kindergarten and transition are to remain at Fitzherbert Terrace, the accommodation there being ample, both in classrooms and grounds, for their needs. They will be in the charge of Miss Hind. The other forms are to be moved out to Karori.
In paying a tribute to the social committee of tho combined unemployed camps at Paraparaumu for their action in donating the proceeds of a concert to the Wellington Free Ambulance the chairman of the board, at yesterday's meeting, said it was not the first time the unemployed had expressed appreciation in a tangible way.
