JUDGED ON SERVICE
Mr. L. G. Lowry, Labour candidata for the Otaki scat, addressed electors of Paekakariki on Wednesday night. Mr. J. Pepperill presided.
Mr. Lowry dealt in a comprehensive manner with the policy of the Labour Party, exposing the bogy of inflation. He strongly denounced the methods adopted by the Nationalists to secure the retention of office, whereby it was inferred that honourable men did not exist outside the Government and its supporters. The issue to be decided on the 27th was left with every confidence to the people of the Dominion who were exhibiting throughout the length and breadth of the territory definite dissatisfaction in regard to the past activities of the Government. The speaker pointed out the futility ot the adherents of such Government, and urged his hearers to avail themselves of this most important but, nevertheless, belated opportunity to vote for a definite change, thereby affording the Labour Party- an opportunity to restore this country to a condition commensurate with its prolific production and wealth. The candidate stated that he was not given to wild promises, but if returned would serve the constituency in particular and the Dominion in general in the same manner as lie had served it in the past. He left the people to judge him on service previously rendered to the community. On the motion of Mr. H. Sewell. seconded by Mr. J.
