GENERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN
CANDIDATES BUSILY ENGAGED
Candidates for Parliamentary honours at the General Election, to be held on Wednesday next, are making full use of the short period now left to them in which to woo the " electors. Most of the local candidates held meetings last evening and there is another full programme for this evening. Meetings locally continue to be conducted with a minimum of interruption. _ The Prime Minister (the lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes) was at Rangiora last evening, and the Minister of Finance (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) addressed meetings in the Bay of Plenty electorate. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr. M. J. Savage)' is in Auckland, and the Leader of the Democrat Party (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) is now concentrating on the Masterton electorate.
