GIRLS' HOSTEL "AT HOME"
Mrs. Knox Gilmer opened an "at home" at the Girls' Friendly Hostel in Vivian Street yesterday afternoon in aid of the building fund. She spoke warmly of the use of such hostels and congratulated the council and matron on the success of theirs. She was presented with a lovely bouquet by the president.
Very delightful music was given at intervals during the afternoon. Mrs. Clark at the piano gave pleasure with her music, Miss Atkinson, singing songs which added much to the enjoyment of the visitors.
Miss Cooper and Mis;- Harcourt sold flowers, anil Mr?. Martin Innis did good business with sweets.
Many friends and workers were present and gave very lioer;illy lo the coin box at. the entrance.
