3IR, SAVAGE OPTIMISTIC 43 OR 44 SEATS "NEVER A BIGGER CERTAINTY" (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. "I am confident the Labour Party will have 43 or 44 seats in the next Parliament," said the Leader of the party, Mr. M. J. Savage, when interviewed on alighting- from the express this morning at the conclusion of a Dominion tour.

| Mr. Savage was met by about fifty supporters, including the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Bernard Martin, and was given musical honours.

"There is interest in both the North and South Islands such as I have never seen before," said Mr. Savage. . "I have addressed overflow meetings everywhere, which is a new experience for me. There has never been a bigger certainty than a Labour majority."
