MASSED BANDS AT BASIN.

One brass band on the march al, ways gives a thrill; but when there are a number massed and playing martial airs the effect is particularly* inspirit, ing. Next Sunday afternoon at the .Basin Reserve eight bands areco-oper-ating under the auspices of. the Wellington Brass and Pipe Association in a performance and spectacular parade. They will assemble at the Town Hall, marching orr at 2.25 p.m., and playing en route to the Basin. A splendid programme of music will there be presented with several massed items and evolutions. Those who appreciate the. skirl of the pipes will be catered for by two efficient pipe and drum' bands. Every effort is being made to provide a most enjoyable afternoon's outing. :.-
