WRESTLING ON MONDAY.

Fast and exciting wrestling is promised by the professional match which is to be staged by the Wellington Association in the Town Hall on Monday night. The principals will be Glenn Wade (Nebraska) and Johnny Woods (California), both of whom have demonstrated convincingly that they are capable of giving the public what the latter enjoy. Both men rely upon straight wrestling to carry them through, and their mat work is so scientific that the interest of the spectators is held from start to finish. They are evenly matched in build and weight, and, whereas Wade, will have the advantage in experience, Woods will have in his favour the dash and vigour which accompany youth. Woods has a formidable record both as an amateur and as a professional, and, after forcing attention upon himself in the States, met with conspicuous success in the course of a visit of some months to Australia, where he defeated the Commonwealth champion, Tom Lurich, at the Leichhardt Stadium, Sydney. Wade is well and favourably known throughout the Dominion, and the spectators know that they will receive good value for their money whenever he is in the ring. There will be amateur preliminaries from 8 o’clock. Further particulars are advertised.
