"MYSTERY PARCEL" DAY

From 8 a.m. tomorrow the Smith Family "Mystery Parcels" will be on sale in various parts of the city, and judging from the keen demand during the last few days for "reservations" the supply of 5000 will be sold out long before 6 p.m. The parcels are all sealed and have been well "mixed" by. the secretary of the Smith Family so that it is impossible for anyone to know where the valuable ones are located. Every parcel contains some article of a retail value of not less than Is, and in some of them are vouchers which entitle the purchaser to goods of varying value up to £l2 17s 6d. There are no blanks, and no second-hand goods in the parcels. No parcels will be distributed till tomorrow morning. Those who have "reserved" parcels during the last few days may take delivery of them from the Smith Family office from 8 ajn. onwards. "Specials" included in the parcels are a "Little Aristocrat" Radion receiving set, Valued at £l2 17s 6d, donated by Messrs. Todd Motors; a kapok mattress valued at £3 10s, donated by Messrs. Hart and Co.; and a new type of gas kettle, the Captain,' three of which have been donated by the Wellington Gas Company. These settles are the latest development in the application of gas for heating purposes, and in addition to their; utility make an ornamental addition to the aluminium utensil family. Other, features, include jewellery, wearing apparel, hardware, groceries, glassware, and toilet appurtenances of every kind. The sellers tomorrow will be. located in convenient doorways in Lambton Quay, Willis Street, Cuba Street, and Courtenay Place, and parcels may also be obtained from the Smith Family office,'9s Wakefield Street. Telephone reservations may be made up to 10.30 a.m., but no parcels will be held, unless by special arrangement, after 3 p.m. AH proceeds from tomorrow's sale will be devoted to the Smith Family's Christmas Cheer Fund for providing assistance at Christmas for those in need.
